JHSC Certification - Food Service Specific

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AS REQUIRED BY THE "OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND
SAFETY ACT AND REGULATIONS”

OHSA, Section 9(12)- It is required by the “Occupational Health and Safety Act” that all workplaces in Ontario, employing more than 20 workers must have a Joint Health and Safety Committee. Further to that at least one (1) Worker and one (1) Management member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) must have completed Part One and Part Two Certification Training by a WSIB Authorized Training Provider.

LEVEL ONE: BASIC CERTIFICATION TRAINING.

Our Basic Certification Program is delivered over two days within a scholastic environment where participant interaction is encouraged. Course content includes sessions in:

  • Health & Safety Policy and Program
  • Organization and contents of the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Including enforcement, offences and penalties for non-compliance. Regulation 851 - Industrial Establishments
  • Duties and responsibilities of all workplace parties.
  • Work Stoppages and Work Refusals.
  • Identifying and Controlling Safety and Health Hazards.
  • Risk Assessments,
  • Workplace Inspections and
  • Accident Investigations
